Button hails 'amazing' win

Jenson Button said his victory in the Canadian Grand Prix was "amazing" and "probably my best."

Button made six pit stops in total after contact with Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, along with a drive through penalty, before reeling in Sebastian Vettel and forcing him in to an error on the final lap to snatch victory. Button said that the race had been a battle after the early contact, and apologised to his team-mate for the incident that put him out of the grand prix.

"I really don't know what to say," Button said. "It's been a very emotional three hours or however long it's been since the start. Obviously the incident with Lewis: I couldn't see anything when he was alongside me. I couldn't see anything in my mirrors, it was one of those things and I've apologised to him.

"And then on it was really a fight, I got a drive through for speeding behind the safety car and then I had to fight my way through about three times. Eventually on the last lap I was chasing down Seb, he ran a little bit wide on to the wet part of the circuit and I was able to take the opportunity and take the win. But for me a fantastic race. I think even if I hadn't won today I would have enjoyed this race immensely, and yeah, amazing win and possibly my best."
