HRT team principal Colin Kolles has said that the team will soon be turning its attentions to its 2012 car.
In both HRT's seasons in Formula One so far the first time its car has turned a wheel has been at the first race, while the rest of the grid have carried out extensive pre-season testing with their models. As a result it appears that Kolles is looking to prevent a repeat in 2012 by starting development much earlier than previous years.
"[We start work] In July in the Mercedes wind tunnel," Kolles told the HRT website. "We will switch very soon to the 2012 car."
After an encouraging Canadian Grand Prix where Tonio Liuzzi finished 13th, Kolles praised the ethic within the team, and with HRT sitting 11th in the constructors' championship he said it would still be trying to overhaul Lotus despite looking ahead to next year.
"The Canadian GP was the team's best result. This is just the result of people, within the team, working very hard. We will continue to work hard and hope to improve and achieve better results.... There are still a lot of races left this season. We want to improve our results and achieve our target of being 10th in the constructor's championship."
