-->It's in all the guide books, all the tourist guides and is often spoken of as Spain's forgotten city. The third in line to the throne of Spanish cities, the hidden gem. Forget Barcelona, forget Madrid – it's Valencia that's really worth a visit they will say. Well, over the next four days we will find out if many of the myths of this coastal city are correct. It's certainly had its place on the map in recent years – the America's Cup sailing was here, it's own ATP Men's tennis event and now a Formula One Grand Prix. Well, I've heard it all now.
This will be the fourth instalment of the F1 European Grand Prix in this city, and it is this year that it really needs to shine. The cobwebs have been dusted off, the event has now had its chance to live a little, to breathe and fine tune its character. It is no longer such a newcomer on the scene, it must act like one of the big guns. Act like one of the big guns, and not a forgotten one.
Over the next four days, we will let you know what the verdict is. With two DRS zones and tyres likely to play a leading role once again, 2011 could be Valencia's year to shine.
