Five years to find a Jewish champion

An organisation has been set up with the aim of "finding a Jewish Formula One world champion within five years".

The Jewish Racing Drivers Association (JRDA) says it is "looking to break down many of the barriers surrounding motor sport and will nurture young Jewish talent to the top of the racing ladder".

"There are not many industry sectors or major sports without a leading Jewish figure, but motor racing finds itself in that position," a spokesman said. "The JRDA aims to fill this void and will provide an all encompassing service for motorsport enthusiasts."
