Germans have voted Michael Schumacher as the greatest German sports figure of all time.
After Dirk Nowitzki became the first German to win an NBA title last weekend, Bild started a poll to find out who was regarded as the best sportsperson that Germany has produced. Out of over 56,000 votes, Schumacher came out on top earning over 28% of the share. That was more than double the amount of second-placed man Franz Beckenbauer, with the football legend receiving less than 13%.
Nowitzki himself rounded out the top three with 12.4%, while reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel - despite dominating this season so far - was only 10th with 1.8%.
