Vitaly Petrov: Vitaly, welcome to Singapore – there's something particular exciting about this race, isn't there?
VP: Yes, it's a great event in an exciting location and I still believe racing at night adds some extra sparkle. It is quite an interesting circuit and there are some challenging corners plus the humidity here is quite high - you are sweating a lot and it's really difficult to drive…

How important is it to have that extra day or two to acclimatise and get used to the conditions?
VP: I think after Tuesday morning I was still trying to get used to the conditions; to wake up at night and go to sleep in the morning…

Give us an example of your typical daily routine here, what time do you wake up and when do you train and when do you come to the track?
VP: Today I woke up at four of five o'clock and I went straight to the track. You can sleep a little bit longer because you only have to be at the track by 6.30pm but I prefer to be there a little bit earlier. I stay until one or two o'clock and then I go back to the hotel to get some sleep around five or six o'clock in the morning. On Saturday, for example, we will work until three o'clock in the morning.

Looking at the track here, it is obviously very different to Monza – how will this street circuit suit you?
VP: For me it is quite important to have a good set-up. On this circuit you have a lot of low-speed corners, so you need very good traction. It is difficult to say at the moment where we will be but we will give it our utmost.
