Anything but hazy If you read the front page of Singapore's local paper The Straits Times this morning, you would be led to believe that a constant haze looming over the city threatens to overshadow the razzle dazzle expected of a Grand Prix weekend.

Well, Lotus Renault GP's arrival in Singapore has been anything but hazy. The team arrived en masse yesterday morning and, with a bang, set its sights on telling the city that it had very much arrived.

There was evidence of that in spades yesterday evening as Formula 1's very own black and gold army descended on the lively and atmospheric Clarke Quay for a fans festival. Yet this army were not all Enstone-ites, far from it. As far as the eye could behold there was a concoction of local Singaporean F1 aficionados alongside western expatriates who had come to enjoy the show.

Much to the delight of the local throng that had gathered, LRGP's drivers came in numbers; Vitaly, Bruno, Romain and Fairuz Fauzy all took part in the hour-long spectacle. Signing autographs, posing for photo after photo and even taking part in a game of Batak – a game which involves touching as many lights as quickly as possible when they illuminate on the frame.

Batak is supposed to test an F1 driver's reactions to the very limit and, as all those at the event would have seen, it got quite competitive! Vitaly set the highest time then Bruno looked to top it but couldn't. Not content with letting it lie, the Brazilian returned to the frame in determined mood, and managed to top the scores with a handsome 85 touches. Who said racing drivers were competitive?
