Anthony Hamilton says that Lewis Hamilton's management company needs to change the way it is handling his son.
Hamilton was at the centre of controversy in Singapore after a collision with Felipe Massa earned him a drive through penalty and ruined Massa's race. In the TV pen after the grand prix Massa sarcastically congratulated Hamilton and slapped him on the back during an interview, which caused Hamilton to leave the circuit without speaking to any more media.
Hamilton split from his father professionally in 2010 and signed with Simon Fuller's XIX Entertainment earlier this year, but Hamilton Snr said his son's management team was conspicuous by its absence in Singapore, and needed to take much more of a personal interest.
"You look up and down the pitlane and every driver, except for Lewis, has a driver-manager in his life, not people from a company," said Hamilton, who was present in Singapore in his role as manager of Force India's Paul di Resta.
"Formula one drivers need people personally involved in the driver's lives because it is a big pressure. You sign up a Formula One driver, so come and do your job. No disrespect to anybody but that's how this business is. I have seen Lewis and he is fine. It is hard right now but he will come back, there is no doubt about that."
