Mark Webber says he is hoping for some dry running on Saturday having set the fastest time of Friday's two wet practice session for the British Grand Prix.
With all of the teams wanting to analyse the impact of the off-throttle diffuser ban, the British weather disrupted plans as both sessions were affected by rain, with a downpour at the start of FP2 ruling out the chance of any dry running at all. Webber set the fastest time of the morning with a 1:46.603, and the track conditions in the afternoon saw the headline times a full three seconds slower.
Webber said he had been prepared for the wet weather so wasn't too frustrated, but was hopeful that Saturday would bring some drier conditions.
"I think everybody expected this weather today," Webber said. "It looks a bit better for tomorrow and Sunday. It's normal for Silverstone to have difficult conditions, as the rain showers come fast and the wind is high, so the conditions can change quite quickly. We got some good information on the intermediate tyres today, I did all my running on one set. Hopefully we can try the dry tyres tomorrow."
