Minor knee injury won't stop Button racing at Silverstone

Jenson Button will still race at the British Grand Prix despite a minor knee injury that stopped him from completing a run up the Goodwood hill climb in a McLaren F1 car.

He instead switched to a road car in order to protect the small injury which he picked during a jet-ski event last week.

"I've just got a little niggly pain and it's not worth pushing it, I want to relax it for Silverstone and that's the only reason," he said. "It's all fine."

A McLaren spokesman told the Daily Telegraph: "He didn't drive a McLaren F1 car [at Goodwood] for precautionary reasons, in order to protect a small bump he'd received on his left knee during a jet-ski event in London last week. But he isn't even limping, and he'll be fighting fit for Silverstone, as usual."
