Webber: 'Nothing has changed'

Mark Webber says the engine mapping ban still means that nothing has changed following practice for the European Grand Prix.

Webber was fastest in the morning session while his team-mate Sebastian Vettel tested the RB7 without being able to use the blown diffuser off-throttle, and was then seventh quickest in the afternoon, 0.5s behind pace setter Fernando Alonso. Webber said that as far as he was concerned nothing had changed from the last race, and that any major effects wouldn't be felt until Silverstone.

"Nothing has changed on engine mapping," Webber said. "McLaren was not slow in Canada and neither was Ferrari, so not much has changed. On all of this subject we wait until Silverstone, as it is a normal GP in terms of the new regulations, at least for us anyway. For us not much has changed."

Webber said his day had been productive despite only being able to set the seventh fastest time in the afternoon, and that the Red Bull's race pace looked strong.

"We used the medium tyres in the first session and they weren't too bad. The first session went okay; there were a lot of different people testing a lot of different things with different fuel loads. In P2, it was more straightforward. We had a slow start to P2 and then went out on the option tyre. The long run went well and we got lots of information for the race on Sunday, the track temperatures are likely to be different on Sunday, but it's still useful."
