Quizzical Yesterday, as we all made our usual mad dashes between the garage, TV pen, paddock and motorhome, there was a quizzical look on many of our faces.

Quizzical because we were seeking answers as to why we couldn't compete at a higher level. Why were we unable to break down the barriers that lay in front (namely Sutil and Alguersuari)? Or had we indeed become complacent that we expected to finish above these cars.

Well, no I don't think we have become complacent. We know the podiums from the beginning of the season will not be handed out to us on a plate. We know the likes of Mercedes GP are breathing down our necks in the Constructors' Championship. We know it's been a while since we've had both cars really causing a stir at the top end of things. It's very easy to ask questions but not quite so easy to provide instant answers. Provide instant answers in this 24-hour news cycle world in which we live. We all just need to have a little patience sometimes because instant gratification is not always the best, or most realistic, outcome.

There is no instant answer, there is no magic wand to put our two fine chaps back on the podium again; it will take hard work and everyone is striving to find the solutions we need to get there. Formula One is gaining praise for how exciting this season is (yes, Vettel is running away with things a little, but in terms of overtaking and unpredictability it is streets ahead of the last few seasons).

We will not be making excuses, however. Poor starts today by both drivers and an all-round lack of pace throughout the weekend have combined to leave us short of other answers.

There is little doubt, however, that we will be eager to take our seat back in the first class section. We hope that our flirtations with second class yesterday will not be ones that linger.

Bring on the home race. Bring on Silverstone.
