McLaren to sit out Thursday testing

McLaren has decided to take a different route with its testing schedule in Barcelona this week by not running its car on Thursday.

With the test lasting five days but teams only permitted to run on four of them, the majority were sticking with the initially planned Tuesday-Friday dates, while Ferrari, Mercedes and Williams were going to be on track Wednesday-Saturday.

McLaren, however, will run Tuesday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday in a move that will allow the team more time to transport any required parts to Northern Spain, having previously been hampered by a lack of running with the new MP4-26.

Jenson Button will drive the car at the Circuit de Catalunya on Tuesday and Friday, with Lewis Hamilton at the wheel Wednesday and Saturday.
