Mateschitz doesn't fear losing Vettel

Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz has said that he wouldn't stand in the way of Sebastian Vettel if he wanted to leave the team.

The reigning World Champion has been linked with a switch to Ferrari for some time, with his current contract subject to an option for 2012. Mateschitz, however, is not concerned about the German's future.

"Whether we 'fear' losing him is not the terminology we would use," Mateschitz told Austrian news agency SID.

"As long as Sebastian is comfortable with us and has a winning car, he will probably not really think about going elsewhere. If he tells us one day he wants to go to Ferrari or Mercedes, we would have to understand. There are more mothers with beautiful daughters - we would let him go."

Mateschitz also reaffirmed his support for Mark Webber, who was unhappy with some of the treatment he received from Red Bull in 2010.

"Mark's personality is different but he is as good as Sebastian," he said. "They are both excellent warriors who can both win the war".
