Toro Rosso signs CEPSA deal

Toro Rosso has agreed a new sponsorship deal with Spanish oil company CEPSA which will take immediate effect.

A deal has been in the pipeline for some time as the team strengthened relations with Aabar investments. Aabar has a stake in Falcon Private Bank, which had signed a sponsorship deal with Toro Rosso earlier this year, and Aabar's majority owner is the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), and in turn IPIC also owns a significant stake in CEPSA.

The deal will see CEPSA branding on the Toro Rosso cars from this weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Monza, as a press release from the team confirmed: "From now on, the CEPSA logo will be visible on Sébastien Buemi's and Jaime Alguersuari's race suits and on the nose, rear wing and rear wing endplates of the cars."

The tie-up with the Spanish company strengthens Alguersuari's position within the team, although no decision on Toro Rosso's 2012 driver line-up will be made until the end of the season.
