Vitaly Petrov says he is not concerned for his future after Renault's Eric Boullier made a comment about exit clauses in contracts.
Petrov has previously said he is not worried if team-mate Bruno Senna outperforms him in the remainder of the season because he has a valid contract for the 2012 season. However, team principal Boullier admitted that even though there is a contract in place it doesn't guarantee Petrov a seat.
"You have contracts, but there are some exit clauses for every party," Boullier said. Petrov, however, responded to the comments by saying he saw no cause for concern, and understood where Boullier was coming from.
"I think everything's fine, it's just bullsh*t in the newspapers," Petrov said in Singapore. "As I said at the beginning of the season, we signed for two years and I don't see the reason I need to be worried.
"I think it's everywhere in the world that a contract can be finished not just because of a bad season or I did less points. The contract can finish by another thing like money or things like this. So this is why he said it. But if you ask him a different question maybe he can answer you differently also."
