Sutil keen to stay at Force India

Adrian Sutil is keen to stay at Force India next year despite being linked to Williams in recent weeks.

Sutil is now in his sixth year at the Silverstone-based team but has never finished higher than fourth and is currently sitting 12th in the drivers' standings. However, with no spaces up for grabs among the top teams and limited space for movement in the midfield, Sutil said he is looking to extend his stay at Force India.

Asked what he made of rumours he might be leaving Force India, Sutil told the official Formula One website: "That's how Formula One is. It's a very fast and furious business. I'm happy at Force India and it would be great to re-sign with them. I'm very motivated for the rest of the season and I will do my very best."

Sutil has faced tough competition from team-mate Paul di Resta this year and has been outqualified seven times. But he said he now has a better understanding of the new Pirelli tyres and is comfortable with his performances.

"In this sport there is always a lot of criticism and pressure and we all have to cope with it," he said. "If you do well, you are the hero. If you don't, you're the zero. It is important not to read everything that is written in the press about you. I am self-confident and had absolutely no doubt that I would get through this difficult time. I'm glad I'm more confident in the car - and it shows."

Sutil has scored 14 points from the last three races and is confident of more this weekend at the Italian Grand Prix after qualifying on the front row and finishing fourth back in 2009.

"I think Monza could be a pretty good weekend for us," he added. "I have fond memories from 2009 and I like the circuit. Our goal is to score points - with both cars - and to catch up to the other teams in front of us in the standings."
