Sauber reserve driver Esteban Gutierrez will take part in a straight-line test at Vairano on Saturday.
Gutierrez is currently racing in Formula One's feeder series GP2 and is Sauber's official test and reserve driver - although he was passed over for a race drive when Sergio Perez pulled out of the Canadian Grand Prix earlier this year. He said he is looking forward to the opportunity to drive the current Sauber C30, even though it will only be in a straight line to test the team's latest upgrades.
"I'm very grateful to be able to do this kind of test for the team," he said. "Although it is not a regular test with many laps and normal set-up work it will give me some new experience of further work with the team and I will be able to learn a bit more for my future."
Despite a ban on in-season circuit testing, teams are allowed to take part in four straight-line tests per season. Or, alternatively, they can trade a straight-line test for an extra four hours of wind tunnel time.
