Hulkenberg happy to wait for drive

Nico Hulkenberg has said he will find out about his future with Force India in mid-December, and that he is hopeful of securing a race seat with the team.

After a promising debut season with Williams in 2010, Hulkenberg was replaced by the heavily-backed Pastor Maldonado for 2011, and had to be content with a third driver role at Force India. With race drivers Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta putting in impressive performances of late - 6th in Germany and 7th in Hungary respectively - Hulkenberg's chances of replacing one of them this season appear slim, but he said he was happy t to wait for a decision on the 2012 campaign.

"Of course you can never be 100 per cent sure until you have been confirmed officially," Hulkenberg told Auto Motor und Sport. "But based on the feedback from the team which has been really good, I am very confident. They have said they are very happy with me."

"Vijay has already said that he will announce the decision about the drivers on December 15, so us drivers will know a few days before that. Of course I would prefer to find out sooner, but it doesn't matter, I just have to wait and stay calm."
