Webber open to future move

Mark Webber has said that he would consider changing teams if Red Bull declined to renew his contract at the end of the season.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has previously said that he felt Webber would retire at the end of the season if he did not stay with the team, as his current deal runs out at the end of 2011. Webber, however, says that he would look at his options if he felt he had yet to achieve his personal ambitions.

"When this championship ends my contract with Red Bull does as well," Webber told La Stampa. "But I don't think it depends on the results; I want to win for me. We'll see, if the team doesn't want me anymore, I will have to ask myself a question - hang up my helmet or change teams?"

Having lost out in the title battle at the last race of 2010, and having had a difficult start to the season this year, Webber already finds himself 31 points behind his team-mate Sebastian Vettel in the standings. He says that he can beat Vettel in a straight fight, and that the experiences of last year are driving him to try and close the gap.

"I'm determined. Last year I fought for the title and I want to do it again. Sebastian is very fast and he now has a good amount of experience, but he's not unbeatable. I prefer not to talk about his weaknesses, but we all have them."
