Lewis Hamilton was given a post-race drive-through penalty for his collision with Pastor Maldonado at the Monaco Grand Prix, but still held on to his sixth place finish.
The stewards, who had given him a penalty earlier in the race for contact with Felipe Massa, added 20 seconds to Hamilton's finishing time for causing an avoidable accident at Sainte Devote. But because Hamilton was a lap up on Adrian Sutil behind him in seventh place, the penalty did not affect his result.
Hamilton referred to the stewards' decisions as a "fricking joke" following the race, complaining that "you get done for trying to overtake and trying to put on a show".
Kamui Kobayashi and Adrian Sutil were given reprimands for separate incidents in their races to fifth and seventh respectively.
