Update - Renault: Kubica's condition 'remains positive'
After his nine-hour operation at the weekend Robert Kubica has reportedly returned to an intensive care unit, with his girlfriend saying his condition has worsened.
So far Kubica's recovery from his rallying accident over a week ago has been going smoothly and over the weekend he returned to the operating theatre for another bout of surgery on his right arm and foot. Dr Francesco Lanza told reporters he was again stable after the work was completed, although he will have to have one further operation on his outer elbow.
His girlfriend, Edyta Witas, was quoted by Polish TV channel TVN 24 saying: "His state has somewhat worsened, both in regards to his physical and psychological state. Robert has had worse days, but he is strong and he knows that staying in ICU is the best solution for him. His life is not in danger."
Kubica's manager was not available when contacted for further information.
