Rubens Barrichello says he is getting better with age and that physically he is in as good a shape as ever as he prepares for an incredible 19th season in Formula One.
Speaking at the Autosport Awards where he collected the Gregor Grant trophy for his achievements in the sport, Barrichello said his time driving for Williams had rejuvenated his career.
"I think I have become better all the time, and I wish I was like this when driving for Ferrari," said Barrichello. "This year has been my best physical year in terms of feeling my body and driving the car to the limits. I've enjoyed it fully.
"Next year there is KERS and people at my team are asking me to lose weight - and I am fully ready for it - I am fully ready. I'm giving my all and that it how it should be. Now I am doing the running, doing the playing and hoping that I lose the weight."
Meanwhile, former team-mate Nico Hulkeberg praised Barrichello's greater consistency in 2010 and offered him the best for the future.
"I realised quickly through my team mate Rubens Barrichello how important it is to have experience in this sport," Hulkenberg told his official website. "Rubens was the strongest team mate I ever had and I am very pleased with the year at his side. He helped me with my development.
"We exchanged our racing helmets in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. We both wrote something personal for each other on it. I hope Rubens will stay in Formula One for a long time and I wish him all the best."
