Imola will host the final round of the GP2 Asia series after the cancellation of the scheduled weekend in Bahrain.
The GP2 Asia finale was originally intended to support the opening round of the Formula One season, but it will now be held between March 18 and 20 in San Marino.
"I know that it is quite peculiar to have Imola added to the GP2 Asia calendar, but the special circumstances had us try and find the best solution for our teams, drivers and fans," GP2 Series chief executive Bruno Michel explained.
"It was important for everyone to have one last round, and with the tests in Europe starting soon and the logistical requirements, we had to find a European venue."
